Hooray! Hooray! Summer is almost here. Actually, summer isn't my most favorite season (my pasty white skin and propensity to perspire make me unsightly in hot summer sunshine) but there are a few things that make the season worthwhile. Count among those things: fresh from the farm green beans, scallions (?), blueberries, carrots, basil, garlic and enormous heads of lettuce. And when I can conveniently pick them up at the main street farmer's market (just a hop, skip and a jump from home) I love them even more! No need to get any dirt under my fingernails or anything.
Episode 23: "Today I am thankful for ... fresh produce."
It's nice to support local farmers ~ you know, I get a chance to feel all "green". Plus, we have yummy things to take home. And the good news is, this is only the beginning of the season! Whoopee.
Who knows? I may even be able to convince Brian to eat a salad for dinner!!!!!
So today, I am thankful.
