You can not bring such happiness to others, if you are not experiencing happiness yourself. You would be "on empty" and therefore have none of it to share. I don't think you are going about it ALL wrong, you just can't have perfect happiness all the time. No one can. It is O.K. to experience some unhappiness. These times of unhappiness help you to define the times that you name as "happiness". I think one helps to define the other.
