Maybe it's my current obsession with The Vampire Diaries, but Nina Dobrev really stood out to me in the sea of crimson. Her form fitting architectural Donna Karan was everything a red gown is meant to be. Talk about sexy and dramatic and jaw dropping, Dobrev looked stunning. (Vampire fans, you should also check out Mr. Damon, who was a presenter, here!)

Connie Britton's scarlet gown was flirty and feminine and foxy. I'm in love with her ultra dark nails and simple gold accessories. Those shoes! Am I right?

And quite frankly is there anything that Kate Winslet doesn't do well? Even when she's picking out red carpet gowns she's successful. This amazing, ultra body conscious Elie Saab number is gorg-to-the-ous. By the way, in other news, we saw Contagion last weekend and all I can say is WOW. It was startlingly good. If you haven't seen it yet and you aren't a hypochondriac, get thyself to the theater and see it presently.

OK, so not every dress last night was red. But, crimson made it onto the carpet via some fancy pants accessories too. Kaley Couco's polka dot Ramona Keveza little black dress is very much on trend this season. And though I'm a sucker for some polka dots, it was those shoes and that beautiful little Judith Leiber clutch that caught my eye. Once again, I'm loving the simple hair and jewelry. Plus, it's clear that if the whole acting thing doesn't work for Couco, she's got an obvious future in personal style blogging. Check out the turned in toes... I believe I've seen that

Of course I can't forget one of my favorite red heads on last night's carpet. Jayma Mays was a sight to behold in this ballerina inspired Zuhair Murad. The dress is so incredibly light, airy and delicate. Her whole look is just ultra feminine and lovely.
If you're not sick of red yet, you should definitely peek at Sofia Vergara, Lea Michele, Adrianne Palicki, and Kerry Washington (who NEEDS to eat a cheeseburger). Didn't I tell you it was a night of red?

I also really loved Martha Plimpton's Zac Posen beaded gown and Laura Linney's super simple Celine mini paired with those amazing shoes was a killer look. How cute was the comedy actress pageant bit? Very entertaining!

Confession time? I didn't watch Game of Thrones and I haven't a clue who Lena Headey is. Eeeeek. Sorry. After I write this little blurb I fully intend to IMDB her. I promise. But how fabulous is her dress? Beautiful, right? I only wish I could find out who designed it. Do you remember how much I was LOVING the long sleeve trend last awards season? Well, I'm still on board.

Emmy winner last night, Julie Bowen was a winner before even stepping foot into the Nokia Theatre. This little Oscar de la Renta number was sleek and fantastic. Her simple hair, makeup and clutch allowed the dress to shine. And shine it did.

Claire, Claire, Claire. This Oscar de la Renta is so modern, edgy, and cool. Plus, it was even more stunning on stage under the lights. Nicely played Danes, nicely played.

My favorite look of the evening was Katie Holmes. The simple lines of her Calvin Klein Collection frock were swoon worthy. I loved the color, the cut, and the effortless way her whole look was styled. Can I get an "Amen" for that belt? Pure perfection. Oh, and ummmmm, blogger bun anyone? Obviously, Katie has paying attention because she totally nailed it.
But enough of MY opinions, who were your favorite fashionistas last night?
